Hi,

That’s an interesting issue you’re experiencing.
I’m afraid I’ve not come across this particular problem before.
Hopefully one of our readers can chime in with some advice.

Cheers
Jonathan

I’m absolutely certain I wired them in parallel, and used 2g cable with proper connectors. I’m not sure if the problem developed immediately, but here’s what’s happening now:
1. Both batteries show 12V with a voltage meter.
2. The trailer works perfectly when plugged into 110-120 @ 50A. This includes 110 and 12v systems.
3. all breakers and fuses are fine (at least the ones I can see in the fuse block)
4. Once I unplug from 110v, the entire system goes dark. This is true even when the pigtail is plugged in.
5. I didn’t notice it right away, because I had it plugged in at home, AND at the campsite.
Any ideas? Is there something in the power converter that could cause this?
Would the additional battery cause such a problem, even if the voltage is the same?

Hi Effrem,

It’s definitely possible. You should be able to check this yourself with a voltmeter or even a current tester.
If I’m doubt please do get help from a professional:).

Let me know how you get on.

My fuses are all good and so are my circut breakers.

Hi Ramey,
A bad converter is certainly a possibility. Like most electricals, if in doubt, seek professional help.
Let me know how you get on!

Frankly, I think it’s already bad because the voltage range is abnormal. Since you mentioned that a giveaway is that the cooling fan isn’t working, I think I’ll take it to a repair service to have it fixed soon.
